Wills & Probate
The firm has a number of partners with experience in guiding clients through the process of drafting and executing Wills. We are also able to assist with obtaining the necessary grants from the Bahamian Supreme Court to allow a deceased’s next of kin to dispose of assets both in cases where the deceased left a Will and where they did not, and in cases where the deceased was domiciled in The Bahamas or died domiciled in another jurisdiction leaving assets in The Bahamas.
The firm is able to assist with all aspects of Wills and Probate, including the following:
- Preparation of Wills and amendments to Wills for residents of The Bahamas and non-residents with assets in The Bahamas;
- Applications for Probate and Letters of Administration;
- Resealing of Grants of Probate obtained outside The Bahamas in countries being part of the Commonwealth and the United States of America;
- Applying for Grants of Administration by the Bahamian court in relation to Grants of Probate issued by courts in civil law jurisdictions.
