Andre J. Rahming was called to the Bar of England and Wales and the Bahamian Bar in 1995. Mr. Rahming joined the firm of King & Co. in January 2005 as a partner after 10 years in private practice.
Prior to joining King & Co., Andre was a partner at a major law firm. He started his legal career under the tutelage of the former Prime Minister of The Bahamas the Honorable Perry G. Christie and the Honorable Phillip Davis whilst employed as an associate with the firm of Christie, Davis & Co.
During his professional career, Andre has garnered widespread experience in corporate and commercial matters, advising major local and international corporations, insurance companies, and many of the government corporations of the Bahamas.
Andre’s in-depth knowledge of the international financial services sector includes mutual funds, securities and banking and accordingly, he has represented a number of mutual fund administrators, hedge fund operators, banks, trust companies, broker-dealers, and private individuals on related legislative issues and commercial matters.
Andre obtained three Advanced Level (University of London) G.C.E.’s in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics whilst studying at the College of The Bahamas. He thereafter attended the University of the West Indies where he excelled in the B.S.C. degree (Engineering) programme. Andre obtained his legal education through the University of London, England where he obtained an LLB. with honors in 1994.
Transactions on which he has recently worked on include:
- The initial establishment of several major Bahamas-based mutual fund administrators and Banks;
- Offshore restructuring of mutual funds including mergers and continuations;
- Establishing several major international hedge fund operators in the Bahamas as broker-dealers or securities investment advisors; and
- Advising mutual fund administrators, banks and trust companies on a variety of Bahamian mutual fund law, banking and securities related issues.
